Waterberg Taxidermy

The head taxidermist and owner, Jan Jacobs started doing taxidermy in 1978. Back then there were no taxidermy schools or courses you could follow in South Africa and he taught himself through literature, ordered from the United States, and, through practical hands on experience.
What started as a hobby turned into a full time career!

Since then he was a member of TASA (Taxidermist’s Association of South Africa) and has also served on their committee for a couple of years.

Jan is also a Professional Hunter and has more than 20 years of experience in the field and has studied animals in their natural state, extensively.
