About:

KSDPC Founding Principles
The Kroonstad Defensive Pistol club was founded in 2013 to address the need of the local community for a sport shooting club that focused on the defensive use of legally owned handguns, shotguns, modern sporting rifles and related every day carry equipment in a safe, efficient and responsible manner.
Even though we practice a sport that is by its very nature competitive, we value the friendships and good relationships we build on the range more than finishing at the top. Taking part in and sharing the sport we love with family members, friends and other members of our community is a goal we strive towards and we welcome anyone who shares in our passion and beliefs to join us on the range and to become part of the family that is KSDPC. The club is built on a foundation of friendship, camaraderie, respect, tolerance and faith in our saviour, Jesus Christ.
Minimum requirements for participating in shooting events:
a. Shooters wishing to participate in shooting events must be a member of KSDPC.
b. All shooters must attend an orientation session beforehand, pass a rules quiz and complete a classifier. During the classifier, the range officer will evaluate the shooters firearm handling. If the shooter is not considered to be on the required level, the range officer may recommend that extra training sessions be attended before the shooter may participate.
c. All shooters must complete a minimum of one classifier per year. A shooter may also be requested to do a classifier if the match director deems it necessary. This will apply in cases where a shooter clearly performs above his current class.
d. Visiting shooters may attend if they are members of SADPA or IPSC, however, proof of membership and participation in shooting events must be presented beforehand.
e. The shooter must use legally owned firearms and ammunition that has been licensed to him/her. If a shooter uses a firearm that is not legally licensed to him/her on the range, thus breaking the law, the matter will be reported to the SAPS. Shooters may share a firearm as long as one of the partners is the licensed owner. Equipment exchanges must be done in the hot box or in the presence of the range officer on duty on that specific range.
f. Shooters must have the required gear and firearms to participate in shooting events and must be able to comply with all rules and regulations.
g. Equipment checks may be performed before and during shooting events.
