The Segodi Game Lodge, a 1000 hectares property, Was bought in the 1980s and until now a great majority of record trophy animals in South Africa is hunted here in the Ellisras/Lephalale region ofLimpopo Province.
With the vision of owning his own piece of untamed Africa, Mr. Reckmann (owner and hunting outfitter) started managing and reintroducing some of the indigenous game species which occurred here in this semi-arid region.
Common duiker, steenbok, bushbuck, warthog, impala, blesbuck, red hartebeest, blue wildebeest, gemsbuck, kudu, zebra, waterbuck, eland, giraffe and ostrich are found in good numbers throughout the hunting concession. As well as leopard, cheetah, brown hyena, caracal, aardwolf, African civet, aardvark, bat-eared fox and black-backed jackal to name just a few.
